A Guide to HTML and CGI Scripts
An excellent tutorial that covers basic HTML tags, creating forms, working with frames, CGI scripts and System programming. Is very easy to follow and includes a lot of illustrations including some "try me" type instructions. This tutorial is straight to the point without having to wade through a lot of excess text.

About.com HTML Classes
This FREE class will help you understand the basics of HTML. With interactive lessons and the option to work with other people in the course, you'll be able to learn HTML the way you want. Go at your own pace, or follow along with the weekly syllabus. The class covers basic HTML , text manipulation, lists, images, linking, tables, frames, and an overview of forms. At the end of the class, those students who pass a skills test demonstrating their knowledge will receive a certificate marking their successful completion of the course.

This site by Joe Burns, PhD. is an excellent source for just about anything and everything html related. He has a number of html discussion forums that range from beginning html to advanced topics. He has a good area covering how to put text over a graphic without using a text editor. Worth the visit!

So, You Want To Make A Web Page
This tutorial by Joe Barta is designed for the "wet behind the ear newbie". Learn to do html using the notepad with these on-line (and downloadable) tutorials. You'll find 6 easy to follow lessons that you can also download. In addition, there is a Tables Tutor, Forms Tutor and a Frames Tutor. If you want to learn HTML, this is one site you won't want to miss.

The Art Of Frames
An excellent Frames tutorial sponsored by Webspinners. This site has one of the very best tutorials around. It shows very colorful examples with code that one can cut and paste right into their own documents. This is a very clear, concise tutorial and was used, in part, to start this site.

Tips and Tricks - How to And Beyond
This site has both the questions and the answers. It has to the point instructions on how to add music to your site, how to handle a style sheet, and a whole lot of other "how to" tips and tricks.

Visual Arts Academy
At last, an HTML class for beginners! No technical terms to learn, no time wasted on history, just the facts. This is a 6-week hands-on class designed with the novice in mind. You'll learn how to not only create your own web pages, but how to upload them to a server and how to add fancy things such as third-party scripts to your page. The final lesson includes creating a triple background. There is a very nominal fee charged for this class.
